Instead of driving to and walking on the beach, I biked there, arriving just after the sun had broken the surface of the horizon. A homeless man was there - a veteran in a wheel chair. We had a good conversation about the beauty of the sunrise and how we don’t appreciate each one as we should, as evinced by the empty beach, parking lot, and back porches of the houses, condos, and hotels. The sunrise made me think of Red Rubber Ball by Paul Simon.
